Alrothna is the goddess of knowledge, information, and wisdom. Common knowledge credits her with the spark of inspiration, new ideas, and creativity. Artists, writers, and scholars alike often beseech her for inspiration in creating new works, and those who count her as muse often become zealots, protectors, or devotees.
Most of the ministers of Alrothna are very studious and scholarly individuals that prize knowledge, scholarship, and wisdom. Many of the ministers come from nobility and wealthy families, most with excellent education and breeding. All ministers are exceptionally literate, knowledgeable, and intelligent.
All ministers of Alrothna must be literate to join the priesthood. In addition, they must have at least a 30% skill in five knowledges before they are ordained. The gifts from Alrothna tend to be very subtle, relying and increasing the knowledge of her minister and less to change the physical world.
The church has very few protectors dedicated to Alrothna, mostly relying upon the shared protectors from other more militant churches in shared temples or hired guards. The few protectors that are members of the church tend to have family members in the priesthood, or have a voracious need to make new discoveries from distant lands or dangerous locales. These individuals are often extremely rugged, intelligent, and exceptionally good problem solvers.
There is a quiet order of Alrothna called the Watchers located on an island in the middle of the Nevan Lake. The Watchers are exceptionally secretive, but do welcome visitors and seekers of knowledge. They charge exorbitant prices or favors for their information, but rumor speaks that any question can be answered from their oracles.
