Imperial Ministry of Defense
The Imperial Ministry of Defense encompasses the Imperial Army and all three knightly orders: Wand, Sword, and Shield. The
Ministry of Defense is currently General Boris Smith, formerly the head of the Order of the Sword. The mandate of the
Defense Ministry is to protect the citizens of the Empire from all military threats. The Ministry details the forces of the
Imperial Army around the Empire, and will on the command of the Emperor engage in military actions outside of the Empire.
The Order of the Sword is a prestigious military knighthood of elite combat troops. Each has shown great valor and personal
skill on behalf of the Empire. Many of the nobility aspire to become part of this group. The knights of the sword are not
a part of the E'gathin military hierarchy. They are used for special missions and quests. Many military commanders will
assign a portion of his troops to a Knight if the need should arise during battle. The current head of the Order of the
Sword is Sir Henri Magnee.
The Order of the Wand was created in the year 163 CE. Their mandate is to protect the Empire from
anyone who would wish to do harm to its citizens by the unauthorized use of magic and enchantments. Their members are few
of late: several brutal attacks by Shadow warriors have devastated their ranks. They are constantly looking for brave and
civic minded wizards and magisters to join them. Their current head is Lord Humphrey Clarkson.
The Order of the Shield is an organization of bodyguards and protectors. Their mandate is to accompany and protect those of
importance and stature in the Empire of E'gath. They serve as bodyguards to the Imperial Family, important nobles, visiting
dignitaries, and others. Anyone inside the Order will willingly die for the person they are assigned to protect. The
current head of the Order is Lord Nathaniel Taylor.
Imperial Ministry of Commerce
The Imperial Ministry of Commerce regulates the creation of E'gathin coinage, trade between duchies, moneychangers, craft
guilds. They monitor the current Imperial Budget, trade deficits, and other fiscal responsibilities. The current Minister
is Lord Edward Rythani.
Imperial Ministry of Foreign Relations
The Imperial Ministry of Foreign Relations is headed by Lord Gustavo Pelini. The Ministry is charged with keeping
diplomatic ties and negotiations with other kingdoms. The Ministry has many diplomats and agents working around the
E'gathin Penninsula, each trying to improve relations and advance the E'gathin agenda.
Imperial Ministry of Over-watch
The Imperial Ministry of the Over-watch was commissioned to be the internal defense of the Empire against hostile groups.
Ever since the Diet of High Kharanul, Elven-backed groups have attempted to infiltrate and corrupt the E'gathin government.
The Imperial Overwatch is there to stop those incursions. Formed in the year 878 CE, the Ministry has gained unprecedented
authority and immunity to prosecution. Duke Timothy Rothgar is currently the nominal head of the Ministry, but most of the
day to day decisions and minutae of the post are being delegated to Christopher Tallendal.
Imperial Ministry of Faith
The Ministry of Faith was created to keep the gods as happy as they can be. Working with the Church of the Ten, this
Ministry provides additional funds, monitors churchly corruption, and acts as liason between the church and the state. The
current Minister is Lord Andre Mayenne, a devoted and faithful parishoner.
Imperial Ministry of Archives
The Imperial Ministry of Archives is entrusted with all of the remaining documents for the Empire. A huge catacomb of
papers, tomes, journals, and edicts can be found under the palace. The searching, compiling, and distribution of knowledge
is the duty of this Ministry. The current Minister is Lord David Strauslaun. This Ministry also is in charge of keeping
a true history for the Empire of E'gath. The current Imperial Historian is Lord Gregory Holmstead.
